FRAUD ALERT: RENTERS' SCAM

Here's a new twist on an old scam. Purdue students who have apartments for rent have reported receiving checks from individuals who plan to rent their apartments. The students are asked to pay the rent and wire the difference to the renters' traveling agent via Western Union or Money Gram.

This is a scam. The traveling agents do not exist. Please remember to only wire money to people you know, including family members and close friends.
