Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU), a member-owned cooperative governed by a nine-member volunteer board, held its 2008 Annual Meeting on April 7 at Purdue University. Following the annual meeting members visited the East/West Faculty Lounge in Purdue Memorial Union, to celebrate PEFCU's 40th anniversary and attend a Membership Benefits Fair hosted by PEFCU.
More than 100 members were in attendance, with standing room only, while PEFCU held its annual business meeting in Room 311 at the Stewart Center. This is the same room where the credit union was officially chartered in 1969, with 18 founding members and seven charter members.
Members re-elected Robert Bain and Thomas Moore, and elected Jayne Feathers as members of the board of directors for a three-year term. Bain is a recently retired director of Physical Facilities Computing at Purdue University; Moore is Chief Financial Officer at Lafayette Venetian Blind, Inc.; and Feathers is a retired Chamber of Commerce executive
The Membership Benefits Fair provided an additional opportunity for members to see how PEFCU will continue meeting their needs in the future at booths focused on online and mobile banking, credit counseling and financial literacy, mortgages and loans, how to become a volunteer, youth accounts, and PEFCU leadership.
Officers for the 2009-10 board of directors are John Trott, chair; Stephen Brewer, vice chair; Robert Bain, treasurer; and Susan Smith, secretary. Other members of the board include Susan Aufderheide, Jayne Feathers, Mark Moriarty, Thomas Moore, and P. Greggory Williams.
