NFL New Orleans Saints Quarterback Drew Brees made his annual summer return on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14, as part of his continued partnership with Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) and his commitment to the Greater Lafayette community.
Brees, a PEFCU member since 1997, has served as PEFCU spokesperson since 2000 and in recent years, he has helped host several youth events during his summer visits. This year Brees began his visit with a special appearance at the Purdue Athletes Life Success Program (PALS) held at Purdue University. The children were greeted by Brees at the Rankin Track and Field. They listened to him speak about the importance of attitude and commitment, and learned how to throw a football during a hands-on passing clinic. PEFCU also awarded four bicycles to children participating in the camp.

Then the local YMCA, YWCA, Community Family Resource Center, and the Boys and Girls Club participated in a special bowling tournament with Brees. He posed for photos and bowled a few frames with each group. To wrap up the event, PEFCU awarded two children from each group with a new bicycle.
On Saturday Brees was joined by other Purdue football greats for the 2nd Annual Brees Dream Foundation Golf Outing presented by PEFCU at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette. The all-day charity event benefiting local youth raised more than $50,000, which will be distributed by the Brees Dream Foundation to PALS.
"Drew is more than a spokesperson for PEFCU," said Bill Connors, PEFCU CEO. "His commitment to the community and inspiring messages to our youth embody our mission of being our members' lifelong partner. We look forward to working with Drew and his foundation on future charity events and youth activities."

The Brees Dream Foundation was established in 2003 by Drew Brees and his wife, Brittany. The foundation helps in the fight to cure cancer, improve the quality of life for cancer patients, and promote the progress, success and education of youth through scholarship programs.
