NFL New Orleans Saints Quarterback and PEFCU spokesperson, Drew Brees made his annual summer return in June for various youth activities and the Brees Dream Foundation Golf Outing as part of his continued partnership with Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union (PEFCU) and his commitment to the Greater Lafayette community.

Brees began his visit with a special appearance at the Purdue Athletes Life Success Program (PALS) held at Purdue University. He spoke to a group of 300 children about the importance of attitude and commitment, as well as demonstrated how to throw a football during a hands-on passing clinic presented with other former Purdue football players. PEFCU awarded four new Schwinn bicycles to children participating in the camp.

Next, nearly 200 children from the YMCA, YWCA, Community Family Resource Center, and the Boys & Girls Club were treated to a special bowling tournament with Brees at Mike Aulby's Arrowhead Bowl. To wrap up the event, PEFCU awarded eight new Schwinn bicycles—two children from each group won a bicycle.

On Saturday, June 14, more than 200 golfers, celebrities and spectators descended on the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex for an all-day fundraiser benefiting PALS. This all-day event included a meet and greet session with former Purdue Football players including Drew Brees, Kyle Orton, Nick Hardwick, Mark Herrmann, and Bob DeMoss. The day of golf concluded with a live and silent auction during the awards reception.

The 2009 Brees Dream Foundation Golf Outing will be held in June at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. Prepaid registrations will be accepted on January 1, 2009.
